Draw The Line: San Francisco show May-18 June-23 2017

I designed and cut eight new MDF figures for the show, Draw The Line: an exhibition of work by Stefan Gesek. I suspended five of the MDF figures from the ceiling and kept them about 20 inches away from the wall. Of the eight figures, I designed three to be sand cast in aluminum. You can see two of the aluminum figures bolted to the post in the middle of the room and the third aluminum figure is the woman with the dress mixed in with the ceramic heads. The night before the opening I added the cut and painted cardboard line, the cardboard El Camino, the cardboard bird and the cardboard Hotel Frisco sign.

Detail of the of the "XXOOS" drawings. I installed 98 of the morning love notes, "XXOO'S" to Peg "the story of Speck and Celery". I pined one on top of the other and side by side to build one giant drawing and I finished it with a cardboard frame.
